AEPi and Chabad House on Campus in Pittsburgh, Pa celebrated their third annual Cannorah Lighting Event at the University of Pittsburgh this past week.
Due to the efforts of the AEPi brothers, along with by Chabad House on Campus, the 300 industrial can-structure became a reality again.
“Chabad House on Campus is happy to work together with the AEPi brothers to accomplish the great task of building a Cannorah and donating the food cans to the Kosher food pantry in Pittsburgh following the holiday,” said Rabbi Shmuel Weinstein, Director of Chabad House on Campus.
Students and faculty alike enjoyed the festive lighting ceremony held in the student union at Pitt, in addition to the plentiful doughnuts, latkes, gelt and menorahs distributed.
The Vice-Provost and Dean of Students, Dr. Kathy Humphrey, began the ceremony by lighting the Shamash, followed by the recitation of the blessings and lighting by Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, Dr. Carey Balaban.
In addition, Chabad House on Campus held Chanukah celebrations every day of the holiday for students.
