Pesach cocktails
The following drinks take the place of alcoholic beverages and can be made for kids by using light or dark grape juice instead of wine in cocktails. An optimal way to present fruits in a fun, appealing way.
Kiwi, lime and cactus pear cocktail – serves 2

2/3 cup sparkling sweet white wine chilled
1 kiwi diced small
1 sabra/ Prickly pear diced small (optional)
1 lime
¾ cup cold seltzer
2 teaspoons sugar + 2 teaspoons to rim glass
Directions:
1. Squeeze half a lime
2. Mix sugar, kiwi, sabra and lime juice
3. Place mixture in glass
4. Add wine and seltzer
5. Garnish with a wedge/slice of lime
Strawberry wine spritzer – serves 2
Ingredients:
2/3 cup dry/semi dry white wine chilled
6 strawberries diced + 2 strawberries for garnish
1 cup cold seltzer
3 teaspoons sugar + 2 teaspoons to rim glass
½ a lime
Directions:
1. Cover diced strawberries with sugar and refrigerate in closed container for a few hours or overnight
2. Strain strawberry juice from mixture and pour into a cocktail glass
3. Add wine and seltzer
4. Garnish with a strawberry placed on edge of glass or a few slices dropped in
Mango passion cocktail – serves 2
Ingredients:
1 cup chilled champagne
2 passion fruit
½ cup cubed mangos
2/3 cup cold seltzer
1 teaspoon sugar
Directions:
1. Mix passion fruit, mango and sugar
2. Pour mixture into glass
3. Add seltzer and champagne
TIP TO RIM GLASSES WITH SUGAR: DIP RIM OF GLASS INTO LEMON JUICE OR WATER. SPRINKLE SOME SUGAR ON A SHALLOW PLATE AND DIP WET RIMMED GLASS INTO SUGAR. SPIN GLASS IN A CIRCULAR MOTION. THIS SHOULD MAKE THE SUGAR STICK AND ADDS BOTH TASTE AND AN EXTRA DECORATIVE TOUCH.
I did 🙂
so refreshing n yummy!!!!!!!n look stunning!!!!!
thanks so much for this amazing mag!!!!
ur #1 fan!!!! 🙂
thank you bitayavon for sharing such cool resipies!!
I love the mag!!
you can use sparkling wine for the fizz or substitute water but lose out on the fizz
A lot of restaurants peel strawberries becuase of problems with checking them.
I don’t use seltzer on pesach,
can I leave it out or just use water?
any substitute??
thanks
you cant peel them…
It seems that you are all graduates of Oholei Torah, and while you may be fine upstanding citizens, you can all benefit from some extra English classes. If you think not try this:
The verbosity of your vocabulary is too copious for my diminutive comprehension 🙂
Thanks for the peels and pics and everything in between. BITAYAVON ROCKS!!!!!!
Lol. You’re busy correcting someone on gremmer when your grammer is worse. The word is “it’s” not “its” and you should have put a comma after peels, and before the word “and”. Lastly the overall structure of your sentence is horrible.
firstly its peels secondly its for the picture and people who peel their fruits and veg can peel them and those that dont dont have to – a bit of common sense. This magazine caters to a large crowd not just chabad….
you worry about the “peals” you spell it PEELS
what about the strawberry
Chill!
these recipes are good for all chabad chumros – i am really excited to try them and make our yom tov table look special!!
so all the comments are saying how bitayavon is great and beautiful and all {which is true} however, couldn’t now word about using peals of lime in a drink on pesach?
I must admit. I am a guy with no interest in cooking, recipes, cookbooks etc. My wife is crazy for all the above, and she’s also crazy for bitayavon. I must say, I get why. Bitayavon is the ONLY cooking magazine I will pic up, let alone read. The pictures are eye catching and the articles are interesting and intriguing. Kol hakavod. Job well done.
any subs for sugar that will work in these drinks?
Bitayavon is so fresh so young creative and now. A real help in my kitchen. Thank you, I enjoy looking like a pro when I use your recipes.

I have to say, the pictures are beautiful and the recipes are simple.
I was surprised when tried a dessert from the magazine and it came out looking gorgeous and tasting scrumptious!

I was amazed at the variety and flavors of your dishes in the pesach edition.
I recently gave bitayavon out at a kosher presentation I was doing and the woman were so impressed by the content and beauty of it. Thank you Shloimy Klein for arranging the magazines for us.
I really enjoyed the new issue and can’t wait to add some new recipes to my menu (I escpecially want to try the chuck eye roast)
