A group of Christian missionaries were again seen hanging out in Lefferts Park in Crown Heights and trying to befriend young Jewish boys and girls, COLlive was told.
An eyewitness said they set up on Wednesday, July 13, a table with food, toys and chalk to lure the Chassidic children who were there without parent supervision.
“They make crosses and write ‘yoshke’ on it,” a concerned father told us. “They were playing with kids whose parents and babysitters (!) were not watching them properly.”
A group of around 10 missionaries spent the morning hours and afternoon in the park.
He said they had a lengthy conversation with a Jewish teenager about Christianity.
“Since your last article about them in the spring, I’ve been curious if it’s them when one of them was giving out water balloons – a choking hazard for children.”
He said they were also taking photos of the children, until volunteers of the Shomrim patrol group told them to stop.

I do not understand why the Police are not called …Adults without children are not aloud in playgrounds…if the police do not care, then a group of parents should care and go and do something about it….
Seriously, after what took place recently, every time I hear something involving children, my heart is beating very fastly. Please, parents and babysitters, be careful and watch over your children.

Why are we allowed to go anywhere we want and do mivtzoyim and these people can’t come to Lefferts park?
As long as you speak to your children before hand and supervise your younger children there is nothing to be worried about.

Wake up everyone! you always fear the “evil outsiders” when in realty you have more to fear from the sickos lurking in our own community. The Leibby case is a perfect example of this!
Although I don’t agree with them (obviously). I don’t understand this double standerd; we also do outreach, and we scream and cry if someone tells US to leave.
It is illegal for an adult to hang around in a childrens park without being accompanied by a child! I’m not joking, in Manhattan the cops hand out tickets for this.

They are very cunning in thier arguments leaving the uneducated with doubts that could remain in thier mind .

Any conversation with a missionary – even arguing with them is seen by them as a victory – our youths must be told to totally ignore them.

the community council should pay someone to be a gaurd in the park for the spring and summer months. i’m sure people would chip in for this.
Let those animals stick to their own people and leave us alone! We don’t need them to “save our souls”! It’s sickening!

I’m actually a friend of the teenage girl who I think your talking about. Just to make this all clear, while the christain woman was trying to talk to her about yushka and christianity, my friend was arguing with the lady and telling her she was a proud jew and she wasn’t interested in hearing about yushka “being our savior” and all that garbage. Please don’t get the wrong idea. She did not agree with ANYTHING the lady told her. Thanks 🙂
Call police and/or shomrim if anyone doesn’t belong in park. Anyone without kids can’t be there, besides anyone acting strange in any way, homeless, belligerent, drunk etc. needs to be removed immediately. I called last week when arriving there was an individual who didn’t belong, walking around cursing- turns out he was raving drunk. the police took care of it.
NY LAW: you cannot be in a children’s park if you are not accompanying a child. you can have them escorted out. this is how its supposed to be.

In the park in our neighborhood it is unheard of for an adult to be there without children.

after the last few days tragic events…parents…you should wake up….this is just as dangerous on a spiritual and physical level for these kids. They could be missionaries, predators…g-d knows….just protect your kids PLEASE! we wont be able to handle any more sad endings…
