A full crowd in Flatbush spent the auspicious chassidic holiday of Yud Tes Kislev in farbrengen with Rabbi Yossi Chazan, rabbi of the Holy Law and South Broughton Hebrew congregation in Manchester, England.
The sponsors of Thursday’s farbrengen were Beis Menachem of Flatbush led by Rabbi Yochanan Morozov and Kehillas Chasdei Brocha led by Rabbi Dov Ber Chein.
Rabbi Chazan recounted his days in nearby Yeshivah Torah V’daas as he eventually became attached to the Rebbe and Chassidus.
Rabbi Chazan touched upon the need to be connected to daily Chassidic study to overcome the negative forces lurking in today’s day and age.
“In order for a Yid to fulfill his mission and the mission of creation itself he must learn Chassidus. The nearer the goal the more challenging the struggle,” he said in his remarks that were broadcast live on COLlive.com.
“As evil is making its final stand, Yiras Shomayim is virtually unattainable other than through connecting to the path of the Baal Shem Tov and his successors in general, and studying Toras Chabad in particular.”
The night also saw the first grand sale of sifrei Chassidus in Flatbush. The soon to be opened Heichal HaBaal Shem Tov on ave J held a special 50% off sale in honor of the Yom Tov.
Dozens of people crowded the stand of sifrei Chabad (in Hebrew and English) and hundreds of seforim were sold throughout the night.
