Chabad Club at Brooklyn College celebrates Purim

A festive Purim it was in the Marine Park area as Rabbi Hendel of Nachlas Levi Yitzchok opened his doors to help host The Chabad Club of Brooklyn College’s Purim Extravaganza.

The event was put together by The Chabad Club in collaboration with BC Chabad Club Founder/Alumni and Event Planner, Yana “Gittel” Gorenshteyn.

The theme of the event was Hollywood and the event called “Purim with the Stars” they invited lots and lots of students from CUNY colleges, and many showed up to hear the amazing Megillah reading arranged by Campus Shliach, Rabbi Nachmon Dov Wichnin.

The MC of the night was, Club President, Avromi Gorokhov, who was announcing all the programs in his “Russian Bubby” costume. There were many interesting programs on the lineup, including, Costume Wars, where there was two teams who had to dress up their team captain in the most funniest costume, the winner is decided by three judges, and wins a movie award.

Many students with a secular Jewish background showed up, heard Megillah, and enjoyed the night. Some of those students have never heard the Megillah in their life until this event.

The Chabad Club at Brooklyn College keeps growing and growing each and every semester as they have expanded their room for their weekly Shmooze event, their monthly Women’s Lectures, and the interactive personal shiur called U-Learn (University-Learn) where as a student, you pick your topic, your time, your day, and your one on one shiur. Rabbi Wichnin together with the Chabad Club do a great job spreading the Jewish light to each individual student on campus from Mivtzoim, to Weekly Events and to Off Campus Events!
