On Rosh Chodesh Av students at Yeshivas Toras Emes in Jerusalem concluded a Mivtza Tanya campaign which began on 19 Kislev.
The Mivtza, which was spearheaded by the Shluchim of Toras Emes, Sholom Cohen, Abbale Wolosow, Levi Sputz and Boruch Hecht, focused primarily on the general knowledge of the 53 chapters of Tanya, and ended with a written quiz and summary on every Perek.
The campaign was divided into four segments, and each student received a set of Seforim based on how many segments he completed.
Those who completed all 4 segments – and passed a test – received the largest prize, a set of Rambam Laam from Mosed Harav Kook (a 20 volume set). Other sets were given for those that completed from 1-3 segments.
The distrubution of the Seforim was preceded by some words from the Mashpia of Toras Emes, Rabbi Zalman Notik. Rabbi Notik spoke about the last line in Tanya, explaining that specifically through the fire and enthusiasm for learning in the Yeshiva, can the coldness of Yerushalayim be devoured.
The involvement of the Bochurim in the campaign was something to be admired. Over 30 participated, of which 21 completed the entire Tanya.
The following are the Bochurim that participated in the Mivtza:
Shmuel Azulei, Daniel Parin, Dovid Poznik, Didi Knofo, Shneur Rosenburg, Moshe Sheinberger, Shmuel Shiminowitz, Yoni Baker, Yoni Golov, Mendy Gelman, Chanania Cohen, Sholom Ber Nemni, Motti Naki, Yaakov Kuperman, Mendy Ben Yaakov, Mendy Borsh, Mordechai Gluchowski, Motti Holtzberg, Yechiel Henig, Schneur Zalman Veg, Yosef Chazan, Yosef Lasri, Peretz Maslati, Ariel Markovitz, Elchonon Kuperman, Nesanel Rotenburg, Yisroel Scholte, Ariel Stern and Yitzchok Sheinberger.
