On one of the coldest days of the winter so far, -32 degrees , a large group of families and volunteers braved the cold to enjoy a Sunday afternoon with Friendship Circle of Ottawa.
Dr. Doreen Smith, a well known artist and scientist, brought many magic tricks to show the group. She then showed everyone how the magic tricks are really not magic at all.
Besides enjoying Dr. Doreen’s workshop, the group enjoyed hot cocoa, homemade muffins and drinks.
After the first workshop, Galina Pompkano showed the group how to do art. Everyone drew lines and then wrote their names on the paper and used different acrylic paints to paint.
The Friendship Circle program was coordinated by Esther Caytak and Yael Kolet. The room space was donated by Mr. John Rapp at the Dovercourt Recreation Centre.
