This year again, over a thousand people attended the annual menorah lighting on the most famous square in Holland, in front of the royal palace on the Dam square in Amsterdam.
For the first time the new Israeli ambassador Chaim Divon attended and was very impressed with the turnout. He spoke very warmly to the Jewish community.
The mayor of Amsterdam spoke as well, then lit the shamash. Afterward the Israeli ambassador lit the rest of the candles.
This event was organized by shliach Menachem Evers and was attended by Rabbis and leaders of the Jewish community.
Awesome, hope we picked up all the remaining sparks soon and we’ll all gather for the final days of Messiah in Eretz Israel!
I find it heart warming to see this! Hopefully this will stay a tradition in Amsterdam!
