A new fund established by a group of individuals in Crown Heights will assist bochurim with limited resources to receive a suit and hat in time for the Pesach holiday.
Set up by a committee headed by businessmen Avremel Lokshin and Shneur Minsky, and working in conjunction with the Vaad Hatmimim organization, the fund will be available to provide a suit and hat to bochurim currently learning in 10 Israeli Yeshivas.
Bochurim learning in most of the other Chabad Yeshivos in Israel will be receiving the holiday clothing gift from another organization, however these 10 Yeshivas were notified last week that their students will not qualify for the assistance.
Some of the Yeshivas who received the notice are Tomchei Temimim Schools of Lod, Kfar Chabad, Kiryat Gat, Migdal Haemek and others.
The reason for the Yeshivas not being included, one student told COLlive, is their participation in the Vaad Hatmimim organization’s programs during the month of Tishrei.
“Bochurim who were part of the Vaad Hatmimim hachnosas orchim or learning programs in the past, are not going to be able to receive the gifts from the other organization,” he said.
Shneur Minsky, one of the group of businessmen who has started the new fund, said he just couldn’t take seeing the bochurim suffering due to community politics. “We could not stand by and watch this happen,” Minsky told COLlive. “Many of the boys, if we don’t help them, won’t have anything,” he said. “Somebody had to step up and help them.”
Bochurim from the 10 Yeshivos will be able to contact their school’s hanhala if they need the assistance.

Menachem Gurevitch and his family are the nicest and most generous people I’ve met. You’re always helping out others and giving to others whatever they need! Keep it up!
Good to know that people are looking all the time to assist in whatever possible. I’m sure that thanks to Rabbi Avraham and Rabbi Shneur we see the Rebbe again soon.
Unfortunatley there enough bochurim in need of assistance bu both organizations, one wasnt enough, so good for thos participating in both and helping the bochurim. Competition is good for the consumer, kinas sofrin tarbeh chochma.
Everyone should donate. This is not simply a matter of hats for bochrim. This is a matter or discrimination and manipulation. We should show support to these bochrim and let them know that they have a right to associate with any holy organization that they choose.
Avrema’le, bravo
Go from strength to strength
Thanks for good news, col
you people never stop from helping EVERY single Bochur.
THANK YOU!
Mr. Avremel Lokshin and the rest, your doing a great job, keep it up and keep on making our Rebbe proud.
These three people are such devoted individuals. They do it without fanfare and politics.
thank you mr minsky for all the amazing work you do keep it up!
If the politics is so dirty how about creating such a program for the American Yeshiva’s… Plenty of Bochorim from struggling homes…
The Gurevitches are the nicest, most generous people. I spent a Shabbos meal at their home. Thank.
but I learned in an israeli yeshivah and think the program should be fixed. Perhaps they should alternate betwen americans who need it (some qualification required), and the israelis. B”H I didn’t need to get one while in israel because my parents could afford it, but the israelis all had fancier hats than me! i’m sure there are americans that need it just as much. Perhaps getting less expensive ones and making the program more widespread would be beneficial. Keep up the good!
The New Found Baali Tzodokeh, be aware, this is a project of $ 750,000, ask those who were doing this for years now.
NO ONR BUT NO ONE, was forced by Rabbi Hendel to say Yechi or conform to his shita.
Mendy Hendel raised and ran Eishel for TWENTY YEARS (take a calculator, CLOSE TO TWENTY MILLOIN DOLLORS). You don’t come in and pretend that you discovered America, with or without Rabbi Yaruslavsky….
Ve-hamaskil yovin.
Happy Purim.
how about those yosonim that do not have money, to buy new hats and suits or even clothes for the year to wear. who learn in American yeshivas
Mi K’amcha Yisroel!!!!
B”H # 3 you can go to Rabbi Groner to the Rabbonim and there a e a few others who have funds
Where can people in CH who need assistance go for such things please
So glad everyone is participating. We all need to help each other. There are so many bochurim ka’h in all the many yeshivos in Israel who are grateful for the generous past help and will be grateful again, now. Kol hakavod to all the donors!
