Over 1500 people from the Manchester Jewish community gathered for a Lag B’Omer unity event.
The event included a rally, with pesukim and words from Shliach Rabbi Peretz Chein of Cheadle, UK.
The crowd then joined for a parade with floats and marching bands, to a nearby park for a family fun fair.
A special feature of the parade was a limousine ride for children participating in ‘Club Kef,’ a weekly educational learning program.
Hundreds enjoyed the fair with rides, games, refreshments and an acrobatic show.
The event was coordinated by Rabbi Moshe Dovid Cohen of L’Chaim Chabad of Manchester and the bochurim Shluchim of Yeshivas Lubavitch Manchester.
Special thanks to the students of Yeshivas Lubavitch Manchester, and Menachem Schonbuch – float, Mendy Soffer – Rally, Tzemach Yemini and Zalmy Mergui – Carnival, and Refoel Popack and Levi Baumgarten – Parade.

Manchester had its first lag b’omer parade in the sixties with all the schools and chadorim joining in- memories of making 100s of salami sandwiches supervised by Mrs Jaffe a’h.

good to see a place that follows the rebbes directive, to have separate marching and seating for boys and girls.
There goes Manchester with its continuous depressing grey , cold weather. But looks like they are having fun nonetheless .
