A plane left the gate at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport with a gun on board before transportation officials alerted the pilot about the problem, FOX 4 has learned.
Airport spokesman David Magana said a 65-year-old woman from Little Elm, Texas had a gun in her carry-on bag that got through the security checkpoint.
By the time the woman took her bag and walked away, a TSA (Transportation Security Administration) agent scanning the D-30 checkpoint noticed the .38-caliber handgun.
At least 90 minutes elapsed before she was in custody, Magana said.
The woman, identified as Judith P. Kenny, told police she had forgotten the gun was in her bag.
The security breach comes on the same day that the Homeland Security Department acknowledged that some TSA agents went too far by strip-searching two elderly women in New York.

Do you know in Texas if you know how to use a gun you must have one. But it is a little (um, i mean a lot ) of irresponsibility to leave a gun in your bag when you go to the airport.

that’s pretty scary. Sorry woman, but thats a TERRIBLE excuse! Why do you have a gun to begin with! And you dont just pack a gun inside ur suitcase and then “forget” about it.
A few weeks back, I was wrapping tefillin before the flight and they came and hassled me. Didn’t matter that I had appointed someone to tell them I was just praying.

why did they arrest her, and not TSA agent who missed it? the woman was just carrying her everyday accessory in her purse, among those lipsticks, powders, photos of grandkids, etc. those hwo are proud texans – I wish I was one… illinois is wa-a-a-ay different
