The most luxurious and expensive house in Israel will be gated with pure gold by Lubavitcher craftsmen.
A magnificent and oversized mansion belonging to Russian Jewish billionaire Valery Kogan will have leaves on its front gates made out of gold.
Covering the space of 8 villas on Hadar Street in Caesarea, where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lives, building the dream home will cost some 100 million dollars, it was reported.
The fence surrounding the estate is being designed and built by the Lehrer brothers, Lubavitcher chassidim and craftsmen who made a name for themselves in scoring projects in Manhattan hotels.
Their most recent project is designing iron and metal work at the legendary Waldorf Astoria New York hotel on Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, which is administrated by the Raychman brothers.
Lehrer’s work for Kogan, a friend of Russian President Vladimir Putin and operator of Moscow’s Domodedovo International Airport, was reported last week in Israel’s largest daily Yedioth Aharonot.
With its gold, the fence alone was estimated to be worth $2 million. What catches the eye of Lehrer’s clients isn’t only their talent, but their chassidic look, proudly sporting full beards and being involved in charitable work.
Such flaunting of one’s wealth and ostentation only serves to feed stereotypes about Jews. Does Kogan really think that he was put here and given great wealth so he can indulge himself with conspicuous consumption and foolishness while many of his fellow Jews and neighbors live in poverty?
a gate made out of gold? worth 2 million??? There are hungry and homeless people and families in Israel and all this guy can do is flaunt a gate made out of gold.
Personally I think it’s a bigger news story that they did the Waldorf Astoria than doing some random dudes fence.
