Two days before the holiday of Shavous, a Hachnosas Sefer Torah was held at the Chabad House in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
A few months ago when Jewish expats, Malka and Adam Shladov realized that the Jewish Community in Vietnam does not own their own Sefer Torah, and have to use a borrowed one, they decided to buy one as a gift to the Jewish community and dedicate the Torah to the memory of Mr. Shaldovs parents who were murdered in Holocaust.
In honor of the festive occasion, the Jewish community came to welcome the Torah with joy and dancing. Hatomim Yakov Maltz, who has been helping the Chabad House throughout the year, played lively Jewish music.
Between the Hakafos, the crowd said l’chaim and enjoyed a rich menu prepared by an Italian Chef. After the Hakafos, everyone received a special souvenir. The event was followed by a farbrengen lead by the shliach, Rabbi Menachem Hartman which most people joined until late into the night.
