Thornhill Spa Wows Women

Chabad Lubavitch of Markham’s “Women of the World” (WOW) organization is affiliated with the worldwide Jewish women’s group dedicated to promoting charitable activities amongst women.

WOW enables women to participate in diverse Jewish charities; helps them give back to the community and enables them to set an example for their children.

Last Sunday, February 1st, WOW proudly hosted its winter event, “Discover Your Inner and Outer Beauty” attended by nearly 200 women from the community. This event was inspired by the unfortunate passing of Rebbetzin Rivka Holtzberg and her husband in Mumbai.

Rebbetzin Plotkin addressed the crowd and enlightened them about the contribution of the Holtzbergs to world Jewry. The focus of her talk was their selflessness to the Jewish community and all who visited their centre in Mumbai.

Ferro Hair Art and Spa sponsored the event which raised funds for Moshe Holtzberg, the child who survived the Mumbai massacre.

WOW’s event included the creation of a “Spa” at the synagogue. Hair, makeup, skin therapy and fashion stylist professionals from Ferro Hair Art & Spa all counseled attendees at various workshops that were held throughout the morning. During the morning, winners were also drawn from incredible raffles that included complimentary spa services, Di-Amanda denim & diamond jewellery, as well as tickets to popular sporting events in Toronto.

The proceeds from this event are going to be donated next week in person by Rebbetzin Goldie Plotkin, to the Holtzbergs’ son, Moshele, who now lives in Israel.
