New Jersey Shliach Rabbi Moishe Gourarie narrowly escaped harm as a fallen tree brought live power lines down on four cars, including one which exploded in front of him.
A fallen tree brought power lines down on four cars in Lakewood Monday morning and sparked a fire in two vehicles, including a massive explosion of the box truck in front of him.
Two vehicles were engulfed in flames, and one car was jolted by electric wires.
Wet weather coupled with downed electric lines put people at risk of electrocution as they fled their cars, it was reported.
Gourarie’s mini-van was totaled when a tree fell on his car and the wires literally burned holes through the roof front and back of his car.
He is still in shock from the episode.
He had no insurance for the van and is now without transportation for his family to take them around and to and from school.
