A beautiful article on Judaism and Jewish customs was published in the recent issue of the Brazilian ‘TIME’ magazine called VEJA.
The article featured many shluchim, describing their work and different Jewish customs.
Rabbi Moishe Leiberson of Espaco explains his shlichus work with young Jews and how he created a place for them to gather and meet.
Rabbi Mendy Nurkin, who frequents the Beit Chabad, explains the use of Tefillin and Tallis.
Rabbi Shabsi Alperin explains the use of a Mechitza in Shul.
Mrs. Mirale Mazzuz, her sister Dini Schildkraut (daughters of shliach Rabbi Yossi Schildkraut) and future sister-in-law Tzippy Eskinazi (daughter of shliach Rabbi Daniel Eskinazi) show how dresses are being made in a Tznius fashion for Tzippy’s upcoming wedding.
Mrs. Yaffie Begun, wife of Shliach Rabbi Mendel Begun, explains the beauty of covering a married woman’s hair and how from a very small age Jewish girls are taught about this special mitzvah.
She is shown pictured with her daughters Feigy, Nina and Chaya Mushka.
The article is a great Kiddush Hashem, and will hopefully dispel some of the widespread ingorance of what Orthodox Judaism is all about.

Sorry to burst your bubble: Far from being a blessing…the soap opera is aired in national TV with an audience the size of Brazil. This magazine, Veja SAO PAULO is sold only in Sao Paulo!

I agree that the soap opera is NOT a kiddush hashem. But, it was not made by yidden! You need to complain to the television channel globo who makes it!! WE need to as much as possible bring to light what yiddishkeit truly is… and not let the stereotyping of television impress people to believe this is what we are. What # 20 is explaining is why suddenly chasidic jews were featured in this magazine? While the article may be somehow OK, it’s there because of a soap opera running now on the brazilian tv, that unfortunately shows how a
gentile girl tries by all means to seduces a chasidic boy, to say the least, it’s definitely NOT a kidush Hashem.

1st of all, if you write in english, at least write correctly. Second of all, this article was exactly to show the opposite. That jewish frum people are not like the jews shown on television. That tv is not reality. This article was to show what yidden are REALLY like. So as it seems to me, hopefully this will bring understanding to all kinds of people of what a TRUE JEWISH FAMILY IS LIKE. And hopefully, it will be a kiddush hashem!!

But the origin is so bad !!
At brazilian tv have a serie(novel) with a jewish group and the actor using kipah,tsitsit,peiot,etc is having a relationship with a shikse.
Enough ?? No !!! For sure they put the actor “jewish” working at a jewlery,like “all the jews are rich” and also his frum mishpachá against the shikse(obsviously),but for goim improve the anti-semitism.
