Bochurim at the Yeshiva Gedola Lubavitch in London, England, celebrated their anuual Siyum on Sunday, the 5th of Av which is the Yahrtzeit of the Arizal.
In a packed Beis Medrash, Avremi Zippel of Salt Lake City, Utah – second generation student at the Yeshiva – made the conclusion on Kesuvos.
Fiery words of chizuk and encouragement were then delivered by the revered Rosh Yeshivah, Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Hertz, who explained how when one learns Torah they become one with what they learn.
Amongst the rabbis who attended was Morah De’asrah Rabbi Elchonon Halprin, who inspired the crowd with Divrei Torah and Yiras Shomayim.
The guest speaker Rabbi Yossi Chazan, minister of Holy Law South Broughton Hebrew Congregation in Manchester, then addressed the crowd, praising the Bochurim on their great achievment, and wishing them success in their continued learning with extra strength and vigor.
The MC, Mashpia Rabbi Mendel Gordon concluded the evening with words of thanks to the Vogel family who continue to support the Yeshiva which their father R’ Nosson OBM was so instrumental in establishing and supporting. It was in his memory that the dinner was held.
awesome siyum, reminds me of your father
This is a shliach’s son. He made the siyum. he spoke brilliantly. Even Reb Chuna Halperin (a very widely regarded Rov in London and beyond) commented in his own speech how beautiful the bochur spoke. This is nachas – shluchei adoinainu – marching toward moshiach tzidkenu!
bocherim be smart go to london
The Hismasrus of the hanhollo to the bochurim is very special. Rabbi Gordon and Rabbi Heller are gems and have B’H helped produce fine chassidishe yugelite beisdes for many shluchim.
great to see rabbi faivish vogel sitting on top table – for his years of selfless commitment to the mosdos he deserves much appreciation.
Unbeliveable! What a massive kiddush Lubavitch. things like this really make the Rebbe proud. Job well done to Rabbi Gordon And Rabbi Hertz and devoted magidei shiurim for their tremendous commitment and suport they continue to display. On the importance of learning: Utterly different is our holy Torah. As the wisdom of the Absolute Existence–the Almighty–it is absolute. at least its only ‘diet’ coke.
london is the best
My 2 years in London were fundamental and I think any bochur that can be given the opportunity to spend those years with Rabbi Gordon is set for life.
Rabbi Gordon: Keep it up Ad meah ve-esrim gezunterheit and frailicherheit.
There is no yeshivah in the world with the ruach and varmkiet like london, i hope Rabbis Gordon and Hertz are gezunt for years to come to inspire my sons like they did -do for me.
especially the farbrengans and yirei shomayim of Rabbi Mendy Gordon
If your looking for a place for your son to gain confidance and learn how to Daven, London Yeshiva is the place.
Why is Rabbi Yossi Chazan Shlita called a Minister, he is a Rov, that is deserving a better title than L’havdil Vchulu…
