On Tuesday evening, 5 Teves, members of London’s Lubavitch community celebrated the inauguration of the new building for its Mechina L’Yeshiva.
The Yeshiva, one of the 71 Mosdos that were instituted in ‘shnas hashivim” in honor of the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s 70th birthday, is a Yeshiva Ketana Mesivta for boys 14-17 years old.
Leaving their location in Stamford Hill which served them for 38 years, the Yeshiva will now move to its new building in Golders Green, NW London.
The beautiful, new environment will hopefully enable the boys to grow in learning and Davening, and will facilitate the growth of the Mechina which will IYH soon include a dormitory to accommodate boys from all over Europe.
The event was attended by close to 400 people, from Anash, local Rabbonim and the wider community.
Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky, Vice Chairman of Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch in New York, was the guest of honor and highlighted the dedication of the staff, led by Rabbi Ahrele Tiefenbrun.
Rabbi Nachman Sudak, Head Shliach in Britain, opened the proceedings, followed by Rabbi Yitzchak Meir Hertz, Mora D’asra of Chabad in NW London.
Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar shared some experiences of his Shlichus in Russia, and highlighted the fact that the Chinuch of our own children must be top priority.
The evening was greatly enjoyed by all, and some of the crowd stayed to Farbreng with Rabbi Lazar until the early hours of the morning.
The coordinator of this project is Getsel Itzinger, who is very grateful for the show of support and enthusiasm from the community.

mechina is now in Temple Forten NOT in golders green.
WHO WILL EVER FORGET MECHINA MEMORIES???????????
1117 Finchley road entrance on bridge lane

HAtzlacha Raba Getzel. May the Aibershter pay you back ad ein shiur for your avodas hakoidesh. Shehakodosh boruch hu yeshalem scharam……
The building looks great, Hatzlocho, it almost makes me want to go back
GO GO GO GETSEL GOOD LUCK TO BOYS FROM THE GHETO
Whats up with the resentment of travelling to stamford hill. Shluchim all over the world would do anything to travel to a school.
Lets pray that mechina goes from strength to strength and that the boys gain from this. That is the bottom line! A big yasher koach goes to all those who made this move happen. It looks like a beautiful new beginning.
Go go go rabbi vogel!
Yes, this is in London England.
He is Rabbi Feivish Vogel who is the Rebbe’s Shliach to London England for almost 50 years
ah the memories of 126 mechiuna ah the memories LOL

Don’t forget the Grammar School used to be where the London Yeshiva is now.
It’s high time they removed that fire trap of a building on Stamford Hill – though the hundreds of memories remain
To # 5 you mean to say trip
well i did this for all my life traverling .
well now stanford hillans lets see how you feel traverling to GOLDERS GREEN every day.
GO GOLDERS GREEN YOU ALL ROCK!!!!!!!
Yasher koach Getzel!!! May you and your family be blessed!
IT IS THE FIRST LUBAVITCH YESHIVA IN GOLDERS GREEN!!
(YG IS IN HAMPSTED GARDEN SUB).
It started in Stamford Hill and by their own choice ppl moved into NW. So they had to pay the price…
Stamford Hill should go from strength to strength!
Stamford Hell was never the place for Mechina! how do you expect kids to remain healthy while learning in a Ghetto?! It’s about time they got it right… Getzel and anyone else who had in on this – Kol Hakavod!!
very impressive new and large building. i wish mechina hatzlocha – meshane mokom, meshane mazal – in being mechanech the next generation of worldwide shluchim and their supporters.
the stamford hillians will see what it feels like to travel every day
@ #2 It looks like Rabbi Feivish Vogel
so stamford hillians will have to make the trek to golders green – about time!!!
As an Alumnai the Mechina should go mechayil el choyil.
Cant wiat to see the schools move NW too.
Wishing lots Hatzlocha
