Vacation Crown Heights, Machon Chana’s summer learning program for Lubavitch women in the Brooklyn neighborhood, kicked off Monday morning with two classes and workshops.
Held at The Bayit at 556 Crown Street, it will take place Monday through Thursday, mornings and evenings, as well as exciting and stimulating programs on Shabbos afternoon.
The program is geared for women in all stages of life, and there is a diverse schedule of topics being covered throughout the summer, COLlive.com was told.
Women from the community enjoyed a healthy breakfast while taking in Mrs. Sara Labkowski’s words of wisdom on how to reach one’s true potential.
The founder of the Machon Chana women’s institute gave a checklist to go by for using our strengths to the best advantage, and even revealed what the scariest animal in the Bronx Zoo is.
Mrs. Malky Katz then gave a class on how to manage on a shoestring budget.
Did you know that with tips like hers, you too could get deals like buying a brand new printer for 8 dollars, or saving enough change to buy a new suit or Sefer Torah?
Vacation Crown Heights will be going on for the next 7 weeks, so don’t miss your opportunity to “get away” without leaving the Shchuna.

how much do the workshops cost? Can you bring a baby?
good reminder
I would love to go to some of these workshops, but can’t make it. Can we see it online? even if we need to pay a few dollars, it would still be worth it.
to number 6
The last thing it is – is pathetic, not everyone is as rich as you!!! A friend of mine saved her £2 for 15 months and was able to go to a simcha in Israel which she would not have been able to go to otherwise!!! I have been saving my £2 coins and have money for essentials right now that I would not have otherwise…..I must agree with number 7, we are a spoiled society!
I have saved up for lovely things through coins I took many courses bought many books. Took my self to lunch all through the saving of coins. I have a friend who goes to Yerushalyim all her spending money comes from a huge jug of coins. When it fills up like once in 3 or 4 years she goes. Our generation definetly waste loads of money where it isn’t necessary to do so. Number six why do you feel it is pathetic? We have become really spoiled. Have a fun summer everyone. This is something to teach the kids as… Read more »
Pathetic!
Great idea. How do I sign my wife up?
besides all the other offers of enriching Torah life, I love the idea of saving enough for great things.
When someone gives me a gift, or a hand me down, or I find a sale on something that I was going to pay full price for…..I put some coins in the pushka. It adds up and THAT makes a difference!
nu so lets hear some tips
