Today, Tes Tammuz we mark the first Yartzeit of Chana bas R’ Aharon Leib, Chana (Raskin) Wolvovsky.
Last year, in honor of Chana’s Shloishim, a beautiful song was written entitled “A Gift From Above.”
This year in tribute of Chana, Avraham Fried (a dear friend of the Raskin family) arranged and recorded the song so everyone could be inspired by Chana’s life and her example – “V’Hachai Yitein El Libo.”
Chana faced her life’s toughest challenge as a kallah and a newlywed.
That’s why Chana will forever be remembered as a kallah na’ah va’chassudah—a bride of beauty, grace, and modesty.
Chana’s classmates and friends have arranged a luxurious new bridal suite to be dedicated at the Crown Heights Mikvah in Chana’s memory.
At the Chana (Raskin) Wolvovsky Bridal Suite, the giving spirit of Chana (Raskin) Wolvovsky will live on.
Help us extend Chana’s Touch to every kallah.

i never saw you but i hope moshiach will come so i can see you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This thread is about this song. Full stop.
It is not about social problems in the community. To use the song and what it represents for this is a cynical disgrace to Chana AH’s memory and an insult to her family.
You are missing the point, its not about this song. its a general rule the more famous you are and the more gezze your family and the bigger your last name the more support and help you get in the chabad community, i know a simple BT family who lost a 4 year old in crown heights had 20 people come to their levaya and was hardly able to get a minyan for shiva!! how many people show up at other levayas who are geze and so on. the pain is the same and we must show our support to… Read more »
i agree with you 100%
i didnt know chana. but she seems like such a special person. her face radiates with a special chein. may her family have comfort and not know any other pain. may she be a maliz yosher for klal yisrael
This was first done specifically for Chana AH by her friend who wrote the lyrics and her cousin who was the original singer. It has nothing to do with how famous any family is – just that she happened to have musical friends. Avremel came along only afterward so that men could hear the song which Chana A”H’s friend composed to the Ma Avarech musical score. So if you want Avremel, who everyone agrees is a real mensch, and Choni who is the same, to produce a song of the type you want, find someone who can write it and… Read more »
Not putting anyone down C”V but i think this song should be in memory of all the chabad children that passed away in the last year. The raskins being more famouse in Lubavitch get alot more support. we must also remmeber those that are not as famouse as the raskins. sometimes it is those small families that need more support. a child is a child the pain is the same no matter how famous the family is we must come together and support each one of these families that lost children. there are over 15 children ages 0-30 that passed… Read more »
As always when Avremel is involved everything is very professional. All of the credits are given at the end of the video, including for the original song and for these special lyrics.
this recording was done by choni alone. no orchestra was involved with this recording in any way.
GO CHONI
YOU ROCK!!!
this is definitely an israeli tune that i recall from about the late 60’s /70’s.It is on an album.Nevertheless, this is a haunting tribute to a beautiful young woman that I never knew but am deeply inspired by.And Gd console her husband and family who must suffer so by this loss.It is amazing that for those of us who know none of these people, we still feel immense pain. I can never forget this woman.
the original song was for a israel sailor that died when a israel submarine name DAKAR was lost in the ocean and never found
just to give credit: the lyrics and music for this song originated in israel as a song sung to the israeli soldiers who give up their lives in their prime and..
nechama did sing this song origianlly. but didnt make it up
the tune is simple yet is it extremely haunting and very talented this is a prime example of a simple composition hitting it on the button and giving over a unique and special experience
keep composing dont be shy after all u got the bigwig to sing for you
the song is from an old Israeli army tune called “Ma Avarech” it tells the story of a young boy who was blessed with everything …except long years…..
i think it’s translated from a hebrew song or soemthing..
AWESOME AND SO BEAUTIFUL..
