When thousands of Jews – Lubavitchers and non-Lubavitchers alike – will come to New York to commemorate the 15th yartzeit of the Lubavitcher Rebbe on Thursday, Tammuz 3 – June 25, transportation will be an issue.
Police have notified that no parking or even standing will be permitted near the Francis Lewis Blvd. entrance of the Montefiore Cemetery in Cambria Heights in Queens.
“Since the summer vacation season didn’t start yet, we can expect much more people arriving,” Yossi Dunin, a Crown Heights resident who runs a bus service, told COLlive.
Dunin’s year-round daily yellow bus line from 770 Eastern Parkway to the Rebbe’s Ohel resting place is being upgraded next week to coach buses which will travel back and forth.
“These are fancy and comfortable buses with a washroom and air conditioner,” Dunin said.
Buses will be running throughout the day. “Whenever you come there will be a bus near 770 leaving as soon as it fills up, and same for picking up from the Ohel,” he says.
The price will be $10 for back and forth (any time), or $5 one-way.
the place where a holy person walked and studied and learned and davened are holy, no?
Yossi is such a fine person. If you don’t want his service get a car and drive there yourself!!
It costs 35 dollars to Manhattan by Taxi, and 2 via public transportation, imagine they would charge 10 and say if you don’t like it take a Taxi…..
You look great keep up the good work that you do ,from your chaver kalman s. in England
to 8. I haven’t heard such stupidity in a long long time. Why don’t you take a taxi next time to the oheland back (that’s if you go at all) and see what it costs you, who has to give you anything for free?????? if you think this is stealing, you don’t deserve the priveledge of having a bus take people daily to and from the ohel for a mere $10.00
To #8 – How utterly stupid. He is offering a ride to the Ohel and back for a great price. Take a taxi or go with you own car, and let the rest of us enjoy this amazing sevice.
what if you don’t live in Crown Heights ??
will there be buses by night??
hey number 8 hes Chas vesholom NOT stealing – YOU DONT repeant DONT have to go on the bus
if not cash for gas, give your driver a buck for tzedakah! A mitzvah for a mitzvah! COME ON! And its ok to introduce yourself to your driver. I promise.
dont you know that the plase were a tsadik rests is a very very holey plase, the rebe used to go somtimes 2 times a week
he’s entitled to the fare.
but why do so many people go to the grave anyway?
Next time someone breaks in to your house and steals from you, don’t call the cops-the man has to support his family.
and he is the nicest person, it cost 5.00 gas each way , and yes he needs to support his family 2, 10.00 is nothing today
though it might not be fair to send people to brooklyn to get a ride to queens who come from all over
He B”H has a large family to support.
I don’t think $10 will kill anyone.
If you take a taxi, you would pay tons more, and don’t 4get the gas. You should be thanking him for the service instead of kvetching.
it brings so many people to 770 ever single day!
Does not the driver have a family to support?
They’ve got to lower the prices.
