Toldos Aharon Sing Lubavitch

One more Chassidic group was filmed on Sukkos singing a Lubavitch niggun. Toldos Aharon in Jerusalem sang the Maamar preparation niggun as they shake the Lulav and Esrog during the Hellel prayer with their Rebbe. Video

All we’re doing is dicussing various origins of niggunim in both an intelligent and mature way. Why does your comment have to be filled with anger, venom, rechilos, lh”r, etc. “Grow Up!!”

this rebbe regularly attended our rebbes farbrengens when residing in monsey many years ago. he uses the nigunim to turn his crowd on! he tries hard! he dislikes lubavitchers teaching his followers likutei torah and the like. his followers dont especially like lubavitchers inclding our rebbe! he trainns his people to learng mishna berura only. I hear from insiders that he is a bit of a misnagid! and the oldys of his people dont go for him and the young ones just follow the crowd and dont care. so whats the big deal. i in israel have true chabad non… Read more »

The Rostover niggun has been sung by other Chasidim for many years. They sing it at chuppahs (just as they often sing the Alter Rebbe’s niggun), as well as other occasions. The alter Satmar Rebbe Reb Yoel used to sing it to Mimkomach as well. As many know, it’s called the Rostover Niggun. It was sung as the hachono niggun before the Rebbe’s maamar. Where and from who this niggun originates I’m not sure. We say it’s ours, but others sing it with slight variations.

this si all new to me

Schapiro brothers?

I don’t know about the accuracy of that comment, but the Shapiro brothers certainly did NOT have a printing house in Rostov. Rostov is quite far from the region in which Chabad Chassidus was prominent. Their printing house was in Slavita. And there is a niggun that is attributed to them, but not this one. Poster #10 seems to have confused things.

The Satmar Rebbe – R’ Yoel ZT”L used to sing this niggun to Mimkomcha when he was the Shliach Tzibbur.

The rostever niggun was made by the the shapiro brothers who were the same peaple who wrote the rebbes sefer torah and were lubavitchers who had a printing house in rostov.

YES, THE SAME THOUGHT CROSSED MY MIND, IT IS THANKS TO AVREMEL FRIED’S CD’S THAT ALL THESE OTHER CHASSIDIM ARE NOW SINGING THESE NIGUNIM, IT’S ALMOST AS THOUGH IT’S A HACHANAH FOR WHEN MOSHIACH REVEALS HIMSELF AND WILL FARBREING FOR THE WHOLE WORLD, THEY WILL BE TOTALLY PREPARED AND FAMILIAR WITH HIS NIGUNIM… I WAS IN A BIG KOSHER SUPERMARKET IN MONSEY WHERE THE MUSIC OVER THE STORE LOUDSPEAKER WAS AVROHOM FRIED’S CD PLAYING “SHLUCHEI ADONEINU” ETC.
MOSHIACH WE ARE READY!!!!

Our Niggunim Elsewhere? Thank G-d
October 12, 2009 12:25 pm

In 770 all we have is Y’chee… where should the Niggunim be saved if not elsewhere?

Not again.

This nigun has at least a century old prescence among others. In fact, if you stop and think for a minute (and are aware that there are a number of “generic” chassidiche nigunim that all of us – yes US – sing) you may wonder where the name “Rostover” came from. That town wasn’t significant in Lubavitch until the last years of the Rebbe Rashab who left Lubavitch because of the war. I don’t know. However (unless someone can tell us) it seems reasonable to assume that eithr (a) it was one of the nigunnim Yankel Poilisher bought to Lubavitch… Read more »

Not so sure this is something to be impressed with

There was an old Poilishe Chazan in Seattle in the early ’80’s. He was very knowledgeable of niggunim from around the world. He maintained that the niggun that was song before the Rebbe would say a maamar was an old Toldos Aron song from Hallel.

It’s all thanks to Avrohom Fried. Kol Hakoved Fried.

Is this real?

2 very similar videos. (other one about Viznitz)
makes me think that it is just a video clip with audio added on to it later as if they were singing it but that it is not really legitimate
