There is no more appropriate time to plan a soul-stirring farbrengen than now, as the fifteenth anniversary of Gimmel Tamuz draws near. But does every community have the time and resources to plan a truly memorable evening rich with inspiration, insight and song?
When Rabbis Boruch Klar and Mendy Kasowitz, Shluchim to West Orange, NJ asked themselves that question, they decided to make it possible. They launched Farbrengen LIVE!, the virtual farbrengen that lets every Shliach host Rabbi YY Jacobson in his own Shlichus environment, free of the logistics and costs normally associated with such an event.
A Georgia Shliach who will be hosting Farbrengen LIVE! plans to set up his Chabad House in a traditional farbrengen style with light refreshments and l’chaims, and stream the webcast so his community can experience a real Chassidishe Farbrengen on a global scale. “I anticipate that the farbrengen will continue even after the webcast ends,” he adds.
Every part of the event is designed to make participation easy and personal. Rabbi Kasowitz partnered with SpotlightXpress.com to offer invitations that can be easily personalized and printed for one low flat rate.
SpotlightXpress.com provides a full collection of elegant and cutting-edge postcards for Shluchim for all the Yomim Tovim, for summer camps, events and more.
Some Shluchim who have already planned events for Gimmel Tammuz are using Farbrengen LIVE! as a way of inviting community members who won’t be able to attend to learn about the Rebbe in their own homes by participating in FarbrengenLive.com.
Farbrengen LIVE! will be broadcast at 8:00pm on Monday evening, Rosh Chodesh Tammuz – June 22. It is subtitled “The Song and Soul of our People” and is a feature of Rabbi Jacobson’s expanding online institute TheYeshiva.net. Rabbi Jacobson will discuss such topics as “Celebrating the Rebbe’s insight to live life to its fullest,” “Unlocking the secrets of Torah” and “Serving Hashem with joy.”
Shluchim hosting Farbrengen LIVE! in their cities are entitled to a combination of free offers from SpotlightXpress.com with their invitation orders.
May we all merit standing together at the Rebbe’s farbrengen long before this Gimmel Tamuz!
money talks
There is a long history of hachlatas from tzach kinusim which all received answers why do the shluchim not follow that way of hachlatos
The style of the fabrengen will be for secular Jews as well. It is clear from the article that it will be broadcast on http://www.TheYeshiva.net — it is really a great service.
A kinus is supposed to be a meeting that causes a a certain feeling that leads to a general hachlata. I don’t believe that you need a vote, but different speakers can say what they think should be an important hachlata, and then there should be a vaad that jusges the consesus amoungsts the shluchim to the dirrenet ideas presented. How can something be a hachlata of a kinus, if not only is it made before the kinnus, but is kept as a secret from all shluchim untill it is presented? The Rebeb used to ask for a list of… Read more »
i watched Rabbi Jacobson’s Yud Alef Nissan farbrengan that was broadcast on his website (www.TheYeshiva.net) and it is so great that this is being harnessed for the secular audience as well.
this is exactly what the rebbe wrote about Yud Shvat; to bring people together in honor of the yartzeit and to tell them about the (frierdiker) Rebbe.
Kudos to Rabbis Klar and Kasowitz for bringing this ‘chutza’!
I say that it is high time that we start saying YECHI RABBI YOSSI JACOBSON
first of all i think you took what #4 said in a negative way i think he was not saying anything negativ, (read it again) and…what does Rabbi krinski have to do with this?
as chaiman of the Kinus, all agree that he does a great job at it.
as far as the Kinus project, it is no secreat that the kinus takes exiting projects and make it a Kinus project. in the hope of making it better.
nice flyer i plan to use it
love the design on this flyer, who did it?
excellent idea. screening it live on the web defeats the purpose. people will just stay home and watch it and not attent their own local chabad house. it should be screened live only at chabad houses or other local venues where many people can come and see it and then replayed 24-48 hours later for those who missed it. i guess its live pay tv and free to air baseball
Not sure what your issue is but the hachloto of the kinus was something the Rebbe asked about and has produced many beautiful programs – that thousands of shluchim Moisdos and Anash benefit from all year round
If you think you could do better then by all means – give it a try. raise the money and offer a service – dont knock others
As for the chairman – you seem to know him well enough – maybe you could offer him your programs
This is a great idea, may we do more project TOGETHER!
I love the Energy of the Poster.
and a beautifull design
kudos to spotlight : the PR company of lubavitch
not prepared statements!
at the bottom it says ”suggeTsted” it has an extra T in the wrong place it should be ”suggested”!
im just going at tikkun haolam-ki lo letohu bera’asa ela lasheves yitzara!
it cant be akinus project
1) it has to be a secret
2) it needs anice LOGO
3) it needs a good cartoon show for seudas dovid malkeh meshicha
4)the hachlatah has to be by the VAAD not by the headof the international confrence of shluchim
Which Website will Broadcast the Live Farbrengen? And Will it be suitable for secular Jews?
first the kinus will see if it is a good project, then they will make it a kinus project and design a logo, and shel the project.
and it will become a kinus project
