Rabbi Shimon Posner of Chabad of Rancho Mirage is calling for discipline and additional training for dozens of students at La Quinta High School who were involved in the game “Beat the Jew”.
School adminstrators learned about the game after a student came forward anonymously.
The game, organized on Facebook, and played out in person, involves student drivers in cars, referred to as “Nazis” who chase down a volunteer student runner referred to as a “Jew”.
“Where is the outrage? It is a breakdown in education”, said Rabbi Posner.
Because the activity happened off campus, according to La Quinta High School Principal Donna Salazar, the students “can’t be disciplined” by the school.
“Its reprehensible and inexcusable. I would expel them if I could, but I can’t,” said Salazar.

i feel bad for teh girl who told about the game. she has to go into hiding even though all that happened was that the page was shut down. they may still be playing the game but she is still scared that she wont walk for graduation. i feel bad for her but envy her courage. she deserves a big thank you from the Jewish community.
